Peng Peng The Penguin Animation

Hey guys, I’ve completed an animation. Didn’t take me too long, but I slacked off somewhat. Its a project that started off of a drawing a friend of mine made, which it evolved into an animation. Yeah basically its about a Penguin named Peng Peng that tries to escape from this random place. I made it a simple animation though, nothing too fancy. Me and my friends are just proud that we finished this before our junior year of high school ended. But I would also take this moment to sincerely thank the community of BlenderArtists. All you’ve guys done is help everyone, no matter how ridiculous the question is(refering to me XD) But thanks for helping me gain the knowledge to find my self at a certain confidence level with blender.

Great fun! Just watched Megamind actually so I’m in the mood for amped up ridiculousness. The quick fades to and from the centre help a lot with the pacing and the humour. Well done.

Haha I loved Megamind! And thanks for the feedback. Funny thing is at first I just wanted normal cut transitions, because vector blur would act funny, but then I just realized it influenced the style in a nice way, so I kept it.

Very cool animation, but it needs some type of ending or closure. You’re off to a great start.

Peng Peng is cool! Really enjoyed watching this.

The animation could use a little work but I enjoyed that

Thank you for the kind feedback. Yeah, I would agree about the animation, my rig was a bit too simplistic though, but I’m probably going to make additions to it later.

Character is so cute and I like the simple design, I really enjoyed the animation had me giggling :D.

That was funny.
The story is good and funny, and if you have that it makes
up for lack of perfect rigs and perfect animations.
But it was a very funny story!

Very funny!

Thanks everyone for more kind comments. I didn’t think this would get such nice responses XD.

Ha that was funny. I liked it but i kinda wanted to see what that huge weapon did, very cool though

Thanks, lol I’m sorry, I thought that it would be funny just to cut to see what happened XD. Also I didn’t want to kill my computer with high res smoke simulations… :frowning:

Really cool idea. I love it. It has a nice cartoon feel. The animation could be more fluid but besides that it is great

Thanks! Agreed, I’ll try to come up with ways to be more fluid.

Awesome style on this work

Thank you, I would give more credit to my friend for providing the drawing of the penguin to begin with.

I was hoping that the wall would just collapse on its own after he faints
The sound wasn’t that good.
Didn’t quite like that the character is so low polygon.
well, i’d say his shadow is to dark (It can’t be completely black)…

But everything else about it - great.

Thanks
Yeah, audio isn’t a thing I’m great at. I don’t have quality sound effects or mic, so i had to record a majority of them with a camcorder. And about the low polygon count, I tried to do that, because blender would crash on me often if I raised it. And yeah, I’m not too much of a light person either.

That penguin looks mad, you should proberly stop giving him weapons. LOL
