Photo as environment map or...?

I have an object with a nice material. What I want is to have a photo (mountain landscape) reflect on the object. I’ve played around with EnvMap and I’ve tried to add the photo as a texture on the object but nothing seems right. What is the correct way to make this landscape reflect?

Use the photo as a texture for the World (check World buttons), this should be a quick option. You could also map your photo on a shadeless cube/sphere/cylinder that will wrap your scene…
