I am justr struggling to get this to look photorealistic in any way. My trees, and they are decent modelled assets just look crap. Lighting look crap, everything looks crap. If I change camera angle to horizontal, it looks a bit better and slightly more realistic, but still not. It’s cycles. The image is low quality samples as this is dragging my system down at the moment. but even at higher it’ snot great.
Any tips. Pulling my hair out on this for last 2 days, trying lots of different things.

Any tips grateful whilst I scour youtube for videos that just look better than mine
The trees are very monotonous, vary the scale a bit more, and maybe if you could mix in a handful of different types. You could also mix in some undergrowth, it would be rare to see just trees and grass. The tree type also looks like it might be more of a manicured tree, one that you would see lining a path and planted very carefully, maybe not one that you would see in a forest. Also the fact they they don’t fill out the frame is a bit distracting.
It should have random scale on, but I’ve changed so many things I am going in circles. I’ll look into that.
It’s just a test scene a the moment, have additional work on other areas to do and will fill it all out.
Thanks for the response. gonna go back and look at different trees.
In the mean time. I’ll go look it up, but if I have a dense forest, is there any way on particle system to ensure no clipping on the trees, especially trees of different types.
These type of trees are not growing like that. It looks unrealistic, because it is. I would stick with something wider. I think you should randomize the size more, and have the trees scatter more uniformly. If there should be big patches, then the trees should have more space between them. Take a look at a reference picture with such trees and you will get the idea. I would add more, bigger bushes as well.
