My entry to the Animated Video Competition for 50th anniversary of The Dark Side of the Moon. I made this over a year ago, and it became my best Blender work to date. I tried many things for the first time and I´m really happy of the result. Also, first post! (finally)

Please cite a specific example; the creator gives a fairly comprehensive breakdown on their process in the video description, and it tracks with what I’m seeing visually.
Hi! No, there´s nothing A.I. in there. It´s a 100% human work. You can check the credits in the description to get an idea how and with which asset it was done.
It’s not a criticism, AI can do beautiful things. As for me, I find that the architecture is too symmetrical and lifeless. There is a lack of creativity, the fault of the abuse of copy/paste. All this lacks feeling, fortunately, there is music.
For urban planning, I saw pretty much the same thing on FREEPIK and it’s royalty-free, that’s why I thought of 3D generated by AI.
It’s good work, but when I hear Pink Floyd, I expect to see excellence
It´s hard to please everyone, and even harder to create something that comes even close to the excellence of The Dark Side of the Moon. It´s a daunting task, tbh. So, I didn´t even try that. Instead, I tried to be as respectful and true to the material as possible, with the time, resources and skills available. The lifeless and symmetrical architecture for example is a deliberate choice, and exactly how I imagined it. It took a lot of fiddling, try & error, and the help of the community to get it right. So, what looks like an abuse of copy/paste to you, was actually a lot of work. Anyway, I´m happy that you consider it good work.
As an aspiring Blender-er, I want to congratulate you on finishing what looks to be a laborious project, and getting featured. Well done!
As a Pink Floyd fan for as long as I can recall, I feel like the work told -a- story that was supporting the mood and lyrics of the music. I also feel that the camera changes and “beats” worked with the rhythm of the music as well. I’m re-watching it for the 3rd time already.

If I understood this correctly, this is Pink Floyd who’s band members are super rich, soliciting free work from artists instead of paying them in order to get free advertising. The least they can do is allow them to use the damn song they’re supposed to animate for.

Thank you very much! It was a lot of work indeed, all my free time in two months. It was a hard crunch, but there was a deadline, so there was no way around it. I´m happy you like the animation!
Thank you very much! To answer your question: Pink Floyd Music granted the rights to use the music for the competition. I still has a claim on YouTube, of course, so I wouldn´t earn anything from it, even if I was a YT partner. But I didn´t do it for the financial gain anyway. It was a great opportunity to do work with PF music without risking a strike.
Yeah, that´s basically what happened. Artists were granted the rights to work with DSOTM music. The winner of the song would get 10k pounds for their IP rights (buy-out), plus some extra bucks for the best of three out of ten.
Personally, I wouldn´t have done it without the rights. It would have been devastating to invest all that work and then not being able to show it. I have that problem already with the majority of my commissional work.
