PIPE IT Add-on-need some slight improvements!

Dear community,

I recently purchased an add-on called Pipe it on Superhive. It’s very easy to use and generally fits my needs and skill level quite well. However, it would be great if someone could spare a few hours and help me with a possible improvement of the add-on.

Essentially, what I need is for the add-on’s starting curve to be positioned — or “snapped” — onto a previously selected object, so that any movement of the curve happens on the surface of the selected object, rather than freely in 3D space.

In addition, it would be great to have an extra pipe profile that is smooth, without thickened joints, and with clean, well-defined pipe geometry. It’s also important to be able to define proper wall thickness and inner diameter of the pipe.

Finally, all of this should work well with a high-quality solidify & remesh option (around 0.2–0.3 mm) that does not overly degrade smoothness and allows for reliable 3D printing.

Does this sound interesting to anyone?

As you’re posting in Paid Work , please edit your post to reflect payment details. Please clarify whether this is paid hourly or as a project, and clarify the hourly rate if it is hourly

Thank you for the information. Regarding reflecting payment details, I think it would make sense for someone who is familiar with this topic to first take a look at the add-on I’m talking about, as well as my description of the situation and the desired outcome — or to get in direct contact with me for any clarifications.

If they then feel confident that they can complete the task, I think it would be fair for them to come back with a proposal for a reasonable price. This order of steps seems fair to me, because for someone it might take only half an hour to solve the problem, while for someone else it might take two hours or more.

Please let me know if you think I’m mistaken.

That sounds great, but I still need you to clarify that you pay either 7.25 USD or more per hour or that this is not paid by hour

Hi Joseph, of course , I could Pay 7.25US$ or more per Hour. But also it could be payed as a project. Guess that 10 Hours will suit the mathematics. Do I need to clarify that already in my post? To define the price for ex. like 80US$ or something? But in any case, I would suggest that someone first takes a look at the problem I’m currently facing and then comes back with a concrete, simple solution and a price proposal. That feels like the fairest approach to me, don’t you think?

I assume this is about this one:

https://superhivemarket.com/products/pipe-it

It seems to be up to date and updated for 5.0 and the author have some more addons (…-it!) on the market. So i guess (s)he knows best how to do this. So why not contact the author to improve the product. This might be a more efficient investment (?).

Of course you are free to pay someone to dig in into this before even beeing able to start some improvements.

“Sorry, I currently dont have enough time to re-work this addon.” - was the Answer that I got. Must say it has a great starting concept & hopefully some interesting important improvements are soon on the way!

Well, it’s a fair offer but in the meantime it’s not always easy to dive into someone else’s nodetree / code and some stuff you asks tend to fall into blender’s toolset, or they become a much larger piece of work to emulate those functionality.

First I suggest you to try to build your own pipe system, there is a few tutorial about that out there :

Then for this :

It looks like you can use blender’s snapping tools for that, the only issue could be that snapping doesn’t account for pipe’s radius… Which can easily be fixed by adding a temporary solidify modifier to the wall. Then you’ll snap to the solidified wall, which will put the curve above the wall.

Without disrespect, I think you might be better by investing your money in a good pizza and take a few hours to solve the issue by yourself  Even if the offer is good I’m not sure it’s worth the trouble…

Who should I contact on this website if I believe I have been a victim of a scam related to this post?
I sent money to one of your members to complete a small modification for me, but as soon as the payment went through, communication stopped and the task was not completed within the agreed timeframe. In fact, it seems that nothing was done at all, except that the money ended up where it shouldn’t have.

We don’t offer any kind of insurance, when you post a job offer here and choose to pay someone that’s entirely up to you. If, however, you will share their username, we will block them, we don’t need scammers here

If U dont need scammers here, there is a way to prevent such issues by informing new Users about such behaviour.

Yes, I’m sure a message saying “don’t scam people” would be extremely effective  anyway, I’ll talk to that user
