Pixar Style Car

Hey guys!

This is my first major project I’m starting in blender. In the end it will be a full animation with a scene and character but now I’m just starting with the car. The plot is going to be a humorous take on a French man parallel parking.

I was going for a pixar-style car with a little bit of character. I think the design is alright, however I’m still in the process of adding the materials (as I have only done the car paint). I’m going to add some rust and a little bit of wear just to make it more authentic.

One of the problems I’m having is making a paint material that has dull reflections so the car doesn’t appear brand new. Here is the node setup of my current car paint

I can’t figure out how to make the reflections a little softer and make the paint look a little older. So I would appreciate a bit of help there if anyone has suggestions.

If you guys have comments or any feedback that would be awesome!

Thanks

Frenchmen cannot parallel park - you will need a whole heap of dents on your car if this is your plot!

For your paint, I added some noise texture to get a sort of sprayed finish on my Tractor Transmission WIP.
