Pixelated rendering with area light

Hi everyone :slight_smile:

My area light seems to be displaying each ray independently. It looks either pixelated or low res but i’m not sure.

It’s rendered using cycles. Resolution is set to 4000x4000. The mesh has only colour, no texture. Increasing the size of the light makes these circles fade, but I would prefer the light remain a smaller size.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how this can be fixed?


Pretty sure I solved this. I’m not sure exactly what setting was causing this problem but I managed to fix it by copying the project into Blender 3.1 and re-rendering the image.
(Updated: Changed colour depth in the output properties from 16 to 8)
