The rock face at the back has taken a lot of trial and error to get it like this. It’s taught me a lot about bump maps. I have also added a few more plants and the odd tweak here and there.
I take your points about the road. The problem is using a grey scale image mapped to the normals, doesn’t give any variation when parallel to the camera view. I have tried bump mapping but that needed far to many verts for my old computer. I will probably have to model each slab to get a decent result.
