Take a look at these pics. I want to know why the pattern has over taken all the pot and not just the face selected. and how would i (later) colour the white area of the pot without bothering the normal of the pattern or its colour.
I also wish to cause the patterns to go on all the other faces like the one selected basically go around on the faces next to it not all of the pot.
I recommend creating a different version with this symbol with for each of the colours and textures u are going to use and then unwrap individualy each face. I am not very experienced but it maybe goes all around your pot because u unwrapped it all. Try removing the UVs and unwrapping again but only the face that u want.
as indicted select only the faces where you want the image to be then unwrap theses

and in UV editor place the map faces above the image and it should show on the pot where you selected the faces only

But u see thats the thing ive done it through selecting one face and unwrapping as a test but when rendering the whole pot is filled with the pattern.
All of the faces are on top of each other. So they all are using that same area, and displaying the pattern. Select them all, and unwrap them again. Drag just the faces that you’d like to use that pattern over it, and leave all the others elsewhere.
