Playing with Audio Sequence Analyzer Effects with AudVis

Hi Everyone,

Testing the AudVis Blender addon which lets you do real time sequence analyzer type of effects from within Blender. Having a great time playing with this. On the piano is my daughter playing Nocturne in C# Minor by Chopin. Rendered with Eevee at 1080p.

Cheers & stay safe

Hi Again,

Here’s a frame rendered out in Cycles. C&C welcomed.

May I know how you installed the Real Time Analyzer on AudVis to achieve that in Blender?

Hi sryc,

I followed the instructions provided by the developer (example.sk). See AudViz Documentation here: https://blendermarket.com/products/audvis/docs

More details are also provided on the devs GitHub page here: https://github.com/example-sk/audvis/

I just tried my old 2020 project on Blender 4.2.3 with the latest Audviz 7.1.0 and it worked like a charm (see screenshot below)! I’ve always liked Audviz and the dev I’d say is top notch!

Also, here’s a random rendered frame (# 4723).

Cheers,
Paul

Hi Paul,

Thank you! Let me have a look at the documentation. Hoping it will be a smooth integration as I’m trying to apply it to particles

@pxlpaul I’ve set all these (same ‘Shape Modifier’ settings as your screenshot) and pressed ‘Start recording’ and ‘Stop recording’, but the Particles don’t seem to be syncing with real-time audio - would you mind giving me some pointers as too whether I missed anything?

Hi sryc,

I use an mp3 audio file which I can hear play when I start the animation (in the preview pane). I also use a vertex paint group to control where I want the primary animation to take place. What are your animation settings?

I’d also suggest looking at the AudVis example videos here: https://www.youtube.com/@BlenderAudVis/videos

Can you hear the audio when you play the animation? Movement only happens once you play the animation using the timeline view. You’ll want to add that to your current layout. Also, I believe the space bar will start / stop the animation.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Paul

Hi @pxlpaul, how do you manage to apply the real-time/mp3 audio frequencies to the existing animation? Asking since for my particle animation, once I ticked ‘Shape Modifier’ to apply to my Icosphere, the original effects (e.g. Harmonic, Turbulence, Force) disappear and basically I’m just left with a static Icosphere ‘frame’/skeleton with just ‘bumps’ that ‘vibrate’ on the surface

Hi sryc,

I hope you didn’t lose any work. Have you doubled checked the manuals? I haven’t tried what you are trying to do, so can’t speak to much about it. Have you tried the “Add Driver” feature which should let you add additional animation to what already exists. This would require some experimentation and hopefully will get you what you are trying to do. Good luck.

Cheers,
Paul

Hi @pxlpaul, Yes I had a look at the manuals and also tried the ‘Add Driver’ feature. I still couldn’t make the real-time audio visualizer work in the way I want it to though
