but as you can see in the rocks note textured we have awesom shader but in the textured one it’s bad shader
so i would like to know what’s the shader who can make the rock more buetiful and finnaly if you have good rock for my landscape i’ll be very Grateful for you
i need it because it’s Contest Between me and my freinds from maya users and 3d max
and thanks;)
You do of course realize that the results of your contest will only show you which of you knows how to use their particular tool the best. It does nothing to show which"tool" is the best…
Looks rocky to me. (And there are many types of rock.) What standard of “beautiful” are you looking for? Might help to show a reference regarding the desired result. And are you wanting advice for just procedural, or are you going to UV map it? (Because if you UV map it, you can just paint it how you want. Procedural offers other advantages though.)
oooooooooh!!! i have completly forgot this thanks i have see it in blender cookie tuturial
i will see it again and try to do i render thanks
this is the rock node
I don’t even remember a time when I saw a translucent rock on a mountain trail or in someone’s garden (which is something you won’t really find unless it’s a crystal such as a quartz)
Another thing to consider is the the need to crank up the ‘roughness’ value on the diffuse shader and turn the ‘roughness’ value on the glossy shader a bit more (and increasing its contribution a little bit).
can you explain why you are mixing diffuse with subsurface scattering? If i hold a rock/stone against light i struggle seeing any light passing trough its surface. Im pretty sure Ace Dragon didnt meant to replace translucent with sss but rather that a translucent doesnt make sense ;D
