PNG texture

Hi. I am trying to use a PNG (transparent background). I am doing a metal ruler and I have created the units of the ruler and numbers in a Affinity Designer and exported it without background.
I was expecting to use it as my base color on my principle shader and have the metallic in the “background” .

So my numbers and lines will be a png and where the metal is …it is just transparent.

But I get this result:

I am pritty sure I am doing something wrong…

How about using a mixrgb node like this: (?)

Thank you man, I tried it works. I think I would try to mix to shader to see if I can give the numbers and lines a different material.
