Hi everyone, good morning!(or afternoon or night or whatever your time zone is)
I’m new to Blender, and I want to make an unrealistic-planet-like shader for my project.
I’ve added all the colors and bumps for it.
Now, how can I add the poles for my planet? think it must be something to do with the saturation value, but I can’t quite get it right…
Yeah, .blend file: https://cutt.ly/TjCffsb
Oh please, anyone just help, everyone’s help is appreciated…
PlanetTest.blend (1.1 MB)
Duplicate the material, change the color ramp, assign new material to snowy poles.

Ahhh…OK. So there is nearly no way to put them in a single shader/material. Thanks!
There is a way to put them in the same material: the way to do so is to use the z-component of the texture coordinates to define what parts of your planet count as polar or not.

Mmmmm, shader skillz. Thanks mate. I tried duplicating your setup.
I added a ColorRamp and adjusted the Map Range.
OH MY GOD, THANKS MATE! I KEEP USING THE WRONG FORMULA UNTIL YOU APPEARED! THANKS!
That’s it! (Why is the system saying “Body seems unclear”)
