poly limiter?

Im starting to model solely in blender 2.49b and I’m wondering if there is a tool or some way to set a poly limit for the current scene. The simulator I model for limits my models to 20,000 polys. I know 3dsmax has this feature and it would be nice to have in blender.

Don’t think so. Switch to 2.6. There isn’t one there either, but it’s a better version.

I might consider it,but I need to know if I can use a 2.6 file in 2.49b. The only way too get my models into the sim is to run it through a kex exporter designed for that version only. I would only be modeling basic meshes with no special materials or anything like that.
