Okay, it’s pong.
This is the kind of game overly-ambitious newbies should make.
I don’t want any crap, I made this in a few hours.
It is two-player only, since I didn’t make AI (two hours!)
I’m just giving you guys the blend, because making it an application made it GASP!20 MB!! And archiving it was 7 MB!
The 3d view is also sized to fit the camera. There is no sound… Update sound support pl0x!
Edit: 600th post!
(I missed my 500th )
Edit: Added curved paddles for a more random motion of the ball and the “q” key quits w/o pausing.
Nice game, great way for a newbie to make. My first game (ever) not just BGE, was a simple text game that you played in the command window. You would give it your age and it would dish out insults.
ANYWAYS… back on topic. You have a great start for your game, but there are several things you could do.
Put bars. or something on the top/bottom. I did not knw when it would bounce back.
Sounds? (You may have them, sometimes my speakers go out.)
Lastly it seems like the ball just bounces back and forth. One thing I’ve always thought would be cool in a pong game, would be to have curved paddles.
Great start for a first game.
P.S. Nice pause menu, but it crashed the game for me.
Okay, I’m adding curved paddles and the ability to instantly quit the game (Q key).
The ball does eventually slow down, even though there is no friction. to speed it up again, just angle the ball by going hitting it with a corner of the paddle.
I noticed a bug.
If the ball is bouncing between walls really fast, it may reverse its direction.
Edit: another bug. If you restart the game, it doesn’t reset the points. Fixed.
