Hello there,

I understand what portals are supposed to do, but I’ve done several tests and alternate between two image slots (portals on/off). I can’t seem to spot a difference. In fact, with portals activated, the render took slightly longer than the same scene with them off.

The scene is a simple interior with environment lighting. But perhaps that’s the problem? Is it more noticeable with more complicated scenes containing textures and varying surfaces? I can’t seem to find anything out there really explaining it. Wondering what others have experienced.

It shouldn’t matter I suppose. Only the area of the opening matters.
