Finaly finished my next project. The scene was based on realy messed up image. (you can find the reference image Below) Originaly rendered using 5750 x 3240 resoluction. Render time 30h. The original scene has 12mil. polygons, 9 of it are ivys.
The modeling and setup of the scene is quite good! The only thing that lets it down a lot is the extremely flat lighting If the lighting was more dramatic you could have a great image here.
I agree with Blendiv3D on his points. The modeling is awesome but the overall render leaves things a bit lacking. It looks like there are diffuse shaders on the street lights and the tank. Maybe a rough glossy shader there would bring out some additional realism. With the right lighting setup you will have an awesome render on your hands my man!! Was this cycles or blender internal?
It’s just not doing it for me. I agree with the others and the lighting, but in addition to that the buildings feel flat like there is just an image put on a plane. The tank is WAY too clean. You need to add some grunge and maybe even paint the tank.
There is no depth of field. Everything is equally in focus. The plants on the buildings look unrealistic and the tree is tipping over.
Building texture on the right is good, on the left not so much…
Overall the image makes me think of a diorama with little models rather than a realistic image.
