In my experience you can just attach a picture.
there is a file size limit for attachments i believe, so if your image fits within the limits then by all means use the attachment feature. if it is too big use an external host and embed the image using the [IMG] tags, don’t link to image shack with its 10 year load time and eternal spamverts
