Post your 2.46 Cloth Tests Here

I’m curious to see what everyone else is doing with the new cloth simulator. Here is a quick test I did. The youtube conversion looks like crap, but you get the idea.

here is mine:

Hey I like that!! Did you use any of the default settings? Mine was simply set to Silk.

I think silk was used. yes.

but i think i also tweaked it a little.

good times

I already posted this someplace but owell it fits…

Those looks great! Could anyone write a tutorial or just step-by-step processes on this? I have tried to get mine to work but just not working for me.
CHEERS!

I’ve got one from an earlier stage of development of the cloth & particle tools . . . fuzzy goodness!

Maybe I should update this to improve the hair?

I am having a hard time trying to get it to work but may be I am missing some steps. It would be great if someone are willing to write tutorial on this feature on it.

Here are some of mine. Didn’t care to add materials or camera movement  Only the last one has camera movement and it is REALLY BAD! Just watch the cloth and not the camera

StormedFX . . . have you read up on the release logs for cloth yet? There are also example files on that page that you can experiment with.

Thank you all for your responses. I have been trying to read all threads about cloth, and in order to make the cloth move with movements of the body I think I need to add armature to it, if I am correct. How can I play with cloth simulation in realtime just like the link below.
CHEERS!

StormedFX:

that video is awesome! i saw the screen shot in the release log and didn’t realize what it meant until i watched that video,

i figured out how to do it by looking at this:
http://www.blender.org/development/release-logs/blender-246/physics-caching-and-baking/

For tweaking physics systems, it is useful to work with the timeline Play button enabled. Making changes will then be automatically be reflected in the results. Further, a new option in the Playback menu, “Continue Physics”, will continue the simulating physics system regardless of the current frame. This makes it possible to interact with the physics system by moving collisions objects, shaking a softbody object, etc.

“Continue Physics” is in the Playback menu found in the Timeline window type.

Timeless, thank you for the link. I will try it again when I get home after work.

CHEERS!

Stormed, My setup wasn’t quite as difficult as you may think.

The three boxes and ground plane are just set up for collision detection. The cloth plane was set up with a default cloth setting of silk. After that, I just selected Alt-A and let Blender bake the frames. After that you render it out. Done.

I see!
Is there any different between “Alt-A” and “Bake”?
This might the part I have been missing. Now I got my cloth to move with the armature, but still missing the dynamic part of it.
CHEERS!

Bake does all the math in one shot and you can store it on your hard drive.

Dudebot that was awesome! The first one was superb! But the third one was kinda long… the second was nice!

Mine’s below. There is a wind blowing from the left of the video. It was supposed to be silk falling on a glowing orb but it looks more like rubbery plastic…

Here’s another. On this one I tested the Pinning feature.
