Powder metal paint - gold metallic

Hello,

I am trying to make a photorealistic table - the geometry itself is okay, but the legs should be painted with gold powder-like paint, and it always looks unrealistic when I render it.

The following link will take you to the kind of effect I need.

The one difference is that I only need the powder/dust texture, the larger, paintbrush strokes are unnecessary.

Currently I have the material setup procedurally as follows (Warm yellow colour, 0.5 roughness, 0.9 metallic, normal map from noise)

I tried playing around with the settings but didn’t find anything that looks realistic. Even combined orange with yellow under fresnel but it doesn’t look realistic. Any comments welcome.

Thank you.

the thing about metals is, what you see is really a reflected light off of surface geometry

& all you need is to add surface imperfections to the material / shader (noise, dirt, bump, normals, AO…) and IBL (image based lighting / environmental lighting) using either HDRIs for the World (indoor @ HDRI haven) or more intricate, alike studio, lighting set (Lamps).
