Problem rendering animation with sound

Hi, I created an animation with several scenes, rendered each as png-files and put them together in the VSE. Rendering the animation as a mov worked fine.
But then I added a wav-file for some background music in the VSE and now I cannot render the animation with the audio. I tried different formats (H264, mov, avi) and codecs (is it right that you have to use ffmpeg when you want to render images with sound?), but I only get the audio with either some crazy color blocks or a black screen.

I have no idea what I’m doing wrong. Can anybody help me?
I’m working with Blender 2.62 and the internal Renderer.

Played around with the settings some more and found out that it renders image and sound just fine when I DO’NT use the ffmpeg codec. Glad that it works now!
