problem with baking tangent space normals

I’ve been trying to bake tangent space normals all day, so maybe someone can help me out. I’m baking from the multires to the low poly using select to active, and it is sort of working, but there are ugly artifacts in the texture. Then I checked my UV and it had been split in very arbitrary sections. (you can see in the picture, the selected part is all split and not linked to the rest of the face section.)

I’m using SVN 15774 Apricot

So,… why is my UV splitting after the bake?

well… not sure which part you mean… but just edit the UV and join the verts back together and re-bake?.. or make your own UV map… and use that?
