Problem with placing a plane

Hello,

I’m very new to blender, and i got a very easy question for you (i think) but i just can’t fix it.

I’m following this tutorial, and my problem starts at 5.10 minutes at the video. I’m trying to place this plane on the front ortho, but my plane always comes at the top ortho?! What am i doing wrong? I hope that these screenshot will help you :).

File / User Preferences / Editing, change the Align To setting from World to View
or
Add the plane and immediately press F6 and select the Align to View tickbox
or
Add the plane and rotate it 90 degrees on the X axis (R X 90)
