Problems converting 2D Curve to 3D

Hi,
I’ve imported a SVG-File in Blender. I tried to convert it to a 3D shape, but well…
That didn’t work out well. Is there a fast solution? I could edit the SVG-File if that’s the problem?

Convert to a mesh (Alt+C) then extrude (E)


Then options to clean up the mesh
Apply object scale (Ctrl+A)
Recalculate normals (select all vertices and Ctrl+N)

The reason it didn’t work as a curve is because of unapplied object scale.


After applying the scale with ctrl+A, the scale gets transferred to splines’ radii


Putting that to a default value of 1 gives the expected result with extrude setting.
