Problems Painting Horizontal Lines on UV Map

  1. I unwrap a cube
  2. then use “Enable Image Painting”
  3. Save the UV map and the file.
  4. Close the file
  5. Then I reopen the file and the cube and UV map are all black.

Why is this?

Anyone else have this problem before and know how to fix it?

Did you save the actual image or pack the texture into the blend.

Thanks for the reply Richard. I’m not sure I follow you but here is the steps I took below. Please tell me where I have gone astray.

  1. First I marked my seams, then saved the .blend file with the UV image Editor open.

  2. Next I saved the UV map at 1024 x 1024 and with a white background. From the UV Editor menu I selected (UV’s > Export UV Layout) then saved my UV map as a .eps file

  3. Then after saving the UV map, I saved the.blend file again.

  4. Finally, I then closed Blender and reopened the .blend file and both my model and the UV window was all black.

It seems to me you’re confusing the UV texture layout (the unwrapping) with the image.

Your white background is if I’m correct the white image. To save this image you go to image -> save as (in the UV editor)

Your a genius. Thanks Sago, I’ve been trying to figure this out for a few months.
