problems using 2 armatures for same character

Hello everybody!
I have a big mess in my hands! Hope someone can help me with this!

I’ve created a rigged character that has one armature for controlling the character itself and another armature with some shape keys drivers. In fact has a third armature that controls eyes direction.

(When I try to join this two armatures Blender crashes…)

I begun to animate using the two armatures, but everything is very complicated because this way, each armature has his own actions in the action editor and the workflow is very uncomfortable.

So I think that maybe someone could help me with some advice with this: Is possible to join my rigged character with this other armature with the shapekeys drivers for the same character?

Wow! so many answers that I couldn’t read them all! ha ha ha

OK finally what I did to simplify the mess was to delete my armature with the shape key drivers. For animating I used the Graph editor (mode drivers) and the whole animation was more easy to work with.

The problem is that I still don’t know how to build just one armature with EVERYTHING in it (shape drivers, eye bone target…) Any advice?
