Projection of a Mesh 3D to 2D

Hi there, I’m new here and I don’t know if this is the right place, but I have some questions. I have an image of a shirt and by mapping it to a displacement map I can get the 3D mesh, but I want to project it into a 2 dimensional mesh.

Is there a way to do it?
Because if I try to use z=0, then I do not get any mesh transformation as the 3D mesh has only a height transformation.

What exactly are you trying to do by flattening it out?

Well the thing is that if I displace my mesh with the displacement map and want to export it like a Collada file, when I import my mesh then it doesn’t have the displacement made.

I want to use this to distort images to make like if the shirt has an image.
