Hey guys. My first post here. I did some fanart for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus movie to get my head around Blender. I’m new to the software and I’m sure some things could be done better/easier. Blender, Zbrush & Photoshop. Some CC is always welcome. Cheers!
Great! I haven’t seen the movie so I don’t know exactly what it should look like. The way the lighting is on the skin it looks almost cartoony. Very Nice!
It looks really good, but the head really needs some SSS if it doesn’t already. If it does, it needs to be cranked up to almost pudding levels. I mean, the Engineers’ exaggerated translucency is one of, if not THE defining characteristic of their skin.
I took another look at the image and realised that Xalener was right. The skin needed more sss, so I re-rendered it with tweaked shader. I didn’t dare to go any higher with the sss settings, because I started loosing the volume and definition. I think it’s better this way. I updated the image in the first post.
Hi. I think that a subtle incrementation on the intensities on both SSS and the specular would make it look more accurate and realistic.
Anyways, it is an awesome work. Good job! : D
