Prometheus Engineer

Hey guys. My first post here. I did some fanart for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus movie to get my head around Blender. I’m new to the software and I’m sure some things could be done better/easier. Blender, Zbrush & Photoshop. Some CC is always welcome. Cheers!

Edit: Updated the image with better sss settings.

Great! I haven’t seen the movie so I don’t know exactly what it should look like. The way the lighting is on the skin it looks almost cartoony. Very Nice!

Outstanding!

Brilliant work, keep it up

Looks better than the original, as far as I’m concerned: better reflects the personality (I have actually seen the movie  )

Thanks DanielW, VickyM72 & sumoLondo

Here’s couple of progress images if you’re interested:

Wow!! that strange chromosomic/particle effect on the lower part of the body is very cool! How did you do that?

edit: ok sorry, i see on the image above! very cool! very! cool!

Excellent work! Welcome to Blender and welcome to the forums:)

great job here.

It looks really good, but the head really needs some SSS if it doesn’t already. If it does, it needs to be cranked up to almost pudding levels. I mean, the Engineers’ exaggerated translucency is one of, if not THE defining characteristic of their skin.

Movie could have been so much better… But nice work! :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks Sakrecoer, comeinandburn, ng-material, xalener & lucasar

I took another look at the image and realised that Xalener was right. The skin needed more sss, so I re-rendered it with tweaked shader. I didn’t dare to go any higher with the sss settings, because I started loosing the volume and definition. I think it’s better this way. I updated the image in the first post.

Hi. I think that a subtle incrementation on the intensities on both SSS and the specular would make it look more accurate and realistic.
Anyways, it is an awesome work. Good job! : D

Superb work! So cool! I loved the movie haha

I don’t know what to say…pro skills or no life? :RocknRoll:
