I combined two of my Spirograph contraptions to make an epicyclic drawing machine. Lots of animatable custom properties on the ptolemy empty, which - sometimes - lead to interesting curves.

Blend file included for who ever wants to experiment with it; animation nodes and b-tracer add-ons required.

I slightly modified my Ptolemy contraption to have adjustable (and animatable) arm positions, which adds a lot of extra curve possibilities. Blend file included; animation nodes and b-tracer add-ons required.
