Pulling my hair out trying to get UV image working

Not sure what I am doing wrong. I unwrap a cube with “Smart UV Project” and when I apply the UV map to the object the numbers never line up. I’ve tried adding a seam in other spots but it still looks the same. I am pulling my hair out and don’t know why I cannot get the “01” to apply to the edge of my model so it is readable as 01.

I have made this so many times now. I thought if I marked the seams as in my image it should lay flat and allow me to place the 01 on the map so it is visible on a corner of the packaging but no matter what I do the number 01 always ends up on opposite ends of the cube. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Can you share the file with the texture?

Do you mean you want the 01 to be flipped 90degrees, so it’s pointing up instead of sideways? You can rotate the UVs if that’s the case.

Something like this:

Or do you mean more like this:

Smart UV Project doesn’t respect seams- you’ll need to use just a normal unwrap for that

Hi, I am trying to get the 01 to wrap around the corner of the packaging. I want the 01 to cross over the seam but joseph said “Smart UV Project” doesn’t respect seams.

So I want the top of the 01 on the left side and the bottom of the same 01 is on the right side like the image below.

I’d prefer to use “Smart UV Project” to do this but I don’t know if it’s possible.

Hmm. Thanks.:+1:

Like so?

I used smart UV project, and then manually flipped the position of the middle two faces in the UV window, and swapped the position of the two outside faces as well, so the rainbow squiggle lined up.

Oh wow. I will give that a try. Thanks so much. :+1: :slightly_smiling_face:
