Using hair for the first time, When I add air it puts it on the entire object instead of the faces I have selected. Also it doesn’t put in on the mirrored side.
Have you added the selected faces to a vertex group and then selected this vertex group to influence the hair density (in the Particle / vertex Groups panel)
Also it doesn’t put in on the mirrored side.
I assume this means you are using a mirror modifier. If so enable ‘Use Modifier Stack’ in the particle settings and have the mirror modifier above the particle modifier
Supply a demo blend file for review (compulsory for all support questions)
Use the appropriate support forum. Moved to Support / Particles and Physics Simulations
Thanks. I’ll try this and send a demo file.
dog(2_20_17).blend (784 KB)I did select a vertex group, but not including influence the hair density. I know I need to attach the blender file, but don’t know how. Please advise. Thanks.
Hopefully I have succeeded in attaching the file to this post.
Set the following in the assigned hair particle system:
Emission > Use Modifier Stack = True
Render > Render Type = Path
Display > Draw Method = Rendered
Vertex Groups > Density = ear
You’ll also want to probably enable ‘children > Interpolated’.
Also you’ve assigned the vertices in the ear vertex group using a weight of 0.5 which may or may not be what you want.
