Q: How to do an effect like this one

Hi, I am completely new to blender, and looking forward to learning it so my question is how to do an effect like this one? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Lovely-Car-Shape-3D-Illusion-LED-Night-Lights-Colorful-Acrylic-Table-Lamp-For-Party-Christmas-Gift/32772259695.html

first have you done the car model ?
and save a copy just in case

it looks like wire frame with quads only
there is a wireframe node but it has tri’s in it not all quads
so can this do the job
might have to do a test for it

in cycles the material looks like emission for all the edge with wireframe node

happy cl

modifiers > Generate > wireframe. If your mesh is in quads, it will show up as quads.

Thanks for the reply, how do I make it have less squares (more space between lines)?

You can use a remesh modifier before it. This isn’t just a material effect or something. It’s based on the actual geometry of the mesh. So to change it, you have to change the geometry.

Actually this is an engraved acrylic glass plate, which is lit from the side, so that only the engraving is visible.
So, what exactly are we talking about here?
a) Do you want to recreate this specific lamp type in a physically plausible way? See here.
b) Or do you want to just create something that has this look?
