As someone who is confused about different files for a texture : Bump, roughness displacement, AO, diffuse and normals texture
What do each do specifically for a model? How do they affect the model? What nodes would I use for them? Are there any things I should know about how to use and the usage of these texture formats/styles?
They’re called PBR textures. diffuse is the color, roughness is the difference between a pool ball and a tennis ball, AO has to do with ambient light and “cavity” shading, etc. You can automatically set them up using the node wrangler addon which comes bundled with Blender.
