Quick Concept Render.

Hey guys,

This was just a very quick render I created this morning illustrating a possible development to the C.H. Smith building in Launceston. Please excuse the pixelation and some of the stodgy stitching :).

I hope to get some animated footage of this area and do some camera tracking with this concept design :).

looks great

Yeah, well done

(caution, architect comment)
Hi, interesting study. I am not too fond of the left red wall, though I can understand you wanted it as an anchor to the boxes composition it seems to me it kind of cuts the building from context and it also looks a bit pointless. The boxes facade is a bit sketchy at this point but I get it’s just a concept study, looks good. But what about rehab of the old building? It is a bit ugly but it does have some quaint artdeco detail at the top. Well, I know nothing about the location. Back to Blender, is it rendered in Cycles?

Thanks guys!

@oanav: Thanks for the constructive criticism! Its not often that it comes in such an objective and palatable format, very refreshing! I have to agree with the red wall cutting it off from its surroundings, almost as though it is turning the cold shoulder to the other buildings :stuck_out_tongue: I didn’t have very much time to whip this up in this morning but I will definitely take those principles into consideration with the next project!

I did a few tests in cycles but ATM I am using octane for my renders:)
