I got tired of the Inkscape workflow every time I needed an icon or illustration as a 3D mesh, so I built an addon that does the whole thing inside Blender.
What it does:
- Live threshold preview directly in the viewport
- Output as Mesh or Curve, with optional thickness
- Batch mode — trace entire folders at once
- Color Trace (experimental) — splits the image into color layers, one object per color. Works best with flat illustrations and solid colors. Complex images may need manual tweaking.
- Calibrated SVG export with real-world dimensions in mm
- Preset system to save and reuse settings
Potrace bundled for Windows. macOS and Linux users need to install Potrace separately.
