Quicktime Animation Render Crashes Blender

Hey everyone, I’m having a bit of an issue here. My goal recently was to create a set of smoke presets i could incorporate in After Effects or some other programs. I needed to render alpha channels, so I picked quicktime as my format. But the problem is, everytime I click animation, blender crashes instantly. I also have quicktime installed. So any idea whats happening? Thanks

You need say more info how OS, hardware, soft versions, etc. for that somebody can help you in a better way, I only can say that quicktime ever has problems with many aplications, if you can use other format.

I’d recommend rendering as an image sequence in most cases as best practice (lossless, no lost files if blender crashes during rendering). You can then use this in AE or render to an animation in Quicktime or some other image editor.

Windows 7 32-Bit, AMD quadcore ~2.8 ghz

Yeah, I was thinking that, I was just wondering if there was a way to fix this, because it would be much easier if it was already rendered in this format.
