Have you thought of trying for a more dynamic background? It may “read” better since most of the tones are quite muted against an almost empty background. It could make it stand out more:) From the angle it looks as though a partial horizon would be reasonable.
Thanks for the feedback - its funny but I rarely get much :(. I think you are right about the background , I need to look into how to get a sky background in there as at the moment I just use the default one in Maxwell Render and just adjust for time of day to try to get the best shadows and light. I will have to look at sky boxes but the integration between Blender and Maxwell is a bit hit and miss for things like that.
That’s a brilliantly modeled and textured aircraft. Really cool. I agree with the feedback though - more dramatic background and lighting could really elevate this piece. The image lacks contrast and would benefit even with some post work.
Anyway, the airplane seems to be carefully modeled, all details and textures! Good work!
Are you not able to render with alpha and no background in Maxwell? If this is the case you could just match this render up with a nice sky background.
The best advice I could give is along the lines of what anuraag_01 already said, it needs more contrast, basically separation to make the individual elements stand out. If you can squint at the thumbnail image and still have a good idea of what it is, you’re definitely going in the right direction:)
