Random generated terrain

Is there a way I could have weight randomly painted to a plain and have it lifted or lowered according to what the weight it? Or something like that?

I think you would need to use this + a algorithmic vertex offset on a “host plane” that gets bumped up and down,

if each “map” has exits like tunnels underground, bridges etc, this could used when loading the next “tile” as a basis (starting plane + bridge end) for generating the next tile,
