Random shadow line appearing in render

When I render my image the image seems to have almost like a shadow line appearing. I’ve checked that there are no hidden objects that are rendering, checked there’s no lights I’ve forgotten about, also checked if any of my other objects are casting a shadow but that doesn’t seem to be it.

Any advice?

Your compositor has a Split node, get rid of it

Still a bit new to blender, but this is the only thing I have on the compositor

Are you rendering with tiling? The line seems perfectly horizontal, like it could follow the border of a tile.

nope not using tiling. Yeah that’s why I thought it must be a setting I’m missing as it’s perfectly across the whole image, rather than just a single object.

Next idea, would this line happen to match the horizon or some feature of the background?

How does the line react if you move the camera?

Hide rendering of the object and test it.
I think it’s a problem I remember seeing, but I can’t think of it.

still there. driving me crazy :weary:

What happens if you render on cpu? Just to test if it’s a device problem.

omg yes that worked! thank you!

For the future, do you know why that worked?

It can be seen as a GPU problem.
Reinstall the graphics driver and test it.

I keep experiencing the same issue after reinstalling the driver…
If the same phenomenon is observed in other projects, it can be seen that there is a problem with the GPU’s hardware.

great thank you, I’ll reinstall and test it
