randomize curve length

Hello.

Is there a way to randomize curve length?
Just like the image attached.

One way is to scale one curve with proportional editing enabled (O) and with the falloff set to random and big enough to affect the other curves

But I have a lot of curves.
Maybe it is impossible to randomize the curve length without a script.

you could use hair particules then edit the curves with the provided tools!

For some reasons, I need to work with the curves first.
If there is a way to convert the curves to hair particles, that would be perfect.
