real time playback?

Is there a setting in Blender to force realtime playblack in the 3d view, so it will skip frames when needed?

I was also thinking it would be cool if Blender had something similar to Maya’s playblast. I believe this entails taking frame by frame screen shots of the opengl playback, so we can get a good sized preview of animation without having to render. Would something like this be possible?[/list]

yup, go into the render buttons, and then to the sound buttons

press the sync button
[yeah, I know it is for audio, but it does cause frames to be skipped]

do you see the rightmost button on the 3d view window header?

shift click it

it isn’t exactly a screenshot, but it is about as fast

Perfect. Both things I wanted are already there! Thanks.
