This is my new artwork: A globe made with Blender 2.41.
Worktime: about 4 hours
Rendertime: about 2min on my notebook
It’s my first really finished picture. But I really like te result. Some feedback would be very helpful.

Nice image. I have some comments though: the planet texture looks a tad unsharp. And much of the planet’s texture is concealed by the blinding effect of the flare you used. I’d keep the flare but make it less strong.

for your comments. Some litte thinks (like the bright sparks) are added after the Render with GIMP. But I could really also add them with Blender (if I used the Halo option).
Oh and sorry for the double posting. This can be used as “the official” one.
Moreover I have post the original sized image at the beginning.
yeah that’s nice. But if I were you I would maybe decrease the halo around the globe and make it more in gradation…and there’s also something about the stars…some are too big. to close to the camera, I think. you should use settings like “star dist :10”, “min dist :250” and a size of about 0.5…well actually use the settings you want, but try to make the stars as if they were not at a distance like…earth-moon distance.

Yeah, you’ve improved it about 94,132,717,489,217,498,792.42% (exactly) from the original.
That’s right. I’ve released it on kde-look.org too and a company has asked me to convert this picture into a web-banner. I’ve done this and they use it on their homepage right now. :eek:
