Realistic Portret

Hello
I want to show you my last work. I kinda want to join the blenderguru competition with this image. I think I turned quite well although I still looks quite weird and not that human like.

I would love to see good feedback and critiques from you guys cuz I think I still have to improve this guy.

(I tried to put a background but it didnt turned that well and I wasnt sure what background should I put there)

It’s great. Very ‘characterful’.

There is something wrong with the eyes, they seem unnatural to me.

Perhaps the brow is a little big? Definitely agree about the eyes, but i like it! It’s looking really good.

textures are too low-resolution, and you’ve used too much SSS.

Is the texture asymmetric? It almost looks like there’s symmetry on it. Also try and add a bit more of a crease in the lips.

I think it’s just the nose. It’s not near enough to the lip and it’s all scrunched up.

I hope these are all super-nitpicks?? Looks amazing!! That is deserving of the gallery, I would say.

@McThingy : No is not me its just a guy I found on the internet. @Sardi : Thanks I kind of see a cartoon feel in it although it shouldnt.
@Paul Murphy : I agree, Im now moving the eyebrow downward but I wont scale it because it wont fit the reference anymore :D @Kemmler : The texture is 2k (2048x2048) I think its a decent resolution and Ill change the SSS. @Waddell : The texture is asymmetric in some points but I havent made is full asymmetric. Ill do it. @upanotch : Actually the nose is matching perfectly with reference I think ill move it just a little but because I dont want it to look like the perfect human (it wont look human anymore) so I try to keep him imperfect.

Looks really great, I agree it deserve the gallery. But I must say that its not realistic. I would suggest a little more texture on eyeball, and a tiny bit of reflection on cheek because currently it feels like there’s only defuse, a bit more resolution of texture on neck. SSS is very good. I liked it.

Im not sure what do you mean by a bit more texture on the eye? there is only 2 textures (col and bump) and other mesh with reflection and spec ( I used the same method that was used on sintels eye reflection)
I know there is a lack of resolution on the neck but I cant really change that right now only in 2d (cuz it takes too much to render and I cant stretch the uvs that much)

@alinb: I said the texture was too low-res because you can clearly see some stretching/interpolation on some parts, especially the neck. I am no expert on portraiture but if I can see the texture’s resolution then it’s too low, IMO.

I mean not the maps, but eyeball looks quite white. may be it need some veins, but actually they are good.

Yes I agree with you but Ill change that in gimp since this was my final render and because its too much time consuming if it were to remake it in blender.

I actually added some veins there but are not that visible to the camera. I did want to go overboard anyway so I left as like so.
