Hey Blenderheads! This is my latest project, a high-fidelity model of the Russian PP2000 submachine gun. I was inspired by its unique design and wanted to challenge myself with some intricate modeling.
Modeling:
-
I started by gathering reference images from various sources to get a clear understanding of the PP2000’s complex shapes and proportions.
-
The main body was modeled using a combination of box modeling and edge extrusion techniques.
-
For smaller details like the iron sights, trigger, and magazine release, I utilized a combination of extrusions, bevels, and boolean operations.
-
To ensure accurate proportions, I regularly compared my model to the reference images throughout the process.

Materials & Rendering:
-
Materials were kept simple for this render, focusing on a realistic metallic look using Blender’s Cycles renderer.
-
I paid attention to creating convincing surface imperfections to give the gun a more believable, slightly worn appearance.
