Reference from light influences alpha

I need a object that becomes transculent where it is iluminated,is there any possibility to do this?

Maybe a blend texture mapped to translucency, and then animate it mapped to an empty that you can constrain to your light sourceā€¦?

look in to specular color ramps, use a pretty high hardness and specularā€¦then do something with the Energy shader IIRC, and the ramp mapped to alpha 0.http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Manual/Ramps
