There is a new addon for reference images on Blender Market. This is a Collab with me, “NormalSteve” Youtuber and Serpens Visual scripting creator and “SkdSam” a Python programmer and we have a stable verson online now with regular updates comming for UI improvements while the core functionality remains the same.
This was a very fun addon to make and gives the user what they would expect from image reference modeling with a new workspace and custom UI with some native Blender controls with a very upgraded experience fitting for Blender 4.2 and moving forward
*** You can add reference images directly into Blender in 2D in a custom workspace named Reference Space.**
*** Also, add images in 3D in the Viewport**
*** Custom controls for resolution 2D “XY” location, resolution, delete single, delete all, clear list and names displayed with your choice of RGB colors**
*** Interactive UI controls for image controls to collapse menu options**
*** Turn the draw images on or off in 2D and or use the native Blender controls for 3D in the viewport**
*** Remove or load images directly from your Computor in groups or individually**
*** Choose to add padding to the imported and drawn images**
