Remesh modyfier: Colour details.

Hey, i hope i posted this in the right section.

i’m trying out something with the new Remesh modifier in blender and i’ve hit a really annoying snag. The set up works really well for blocking out characters and is amazing for animation and it’d be perfect if i could just get this one thing resolved. After having blocked out the character from a friends design i wanted to try to add some of the details. I want to do this without applying the remesh modifier in order to preserve the animation effects it gives. However the modifier only calculates colour as whole objects rather than interpreting multiple materials or texture colours.
I’ve tried making a strip and shrink wrapping it to the original mesh however this simply breaks when trying to move the mesh again.
Anyone have any ideas for alternative solutions on this one? Any help much appreciated ;_;
