Remove double edges?

hello everyone,
got this shape after a boolean operation

but after the operation the mesh has some verts that create overlapping edges.

i can just delete the edges.

the problem is finding them.

it’s a waste of time going around looking for these.

is there an operation to find vertices that create overlapping edges?

thanks

If you go to edit mode; edges and Select All by Trait → Non manifold and then disable Boundaries then you should get them… sometimes it’s easierr to just rotate the selected one (and do ot apply the rotaton) to see them better…

deselecting boundaries didn’t catch them.
what is that second part of your answer?
“sometimes it’s easierr to just rotate the selected one (and do ot apply the rotaton) to see them better…”
i didn’t understand that

Th overlapping edges are often not visible very good… so if you just press R and rotate them… they are more recognizable…

This is almost completely a quadmesh. So the ones you are looking for are very likely e-poles or higher.

If you have an addon to highlight them use that, otherwise you can select (or create) an existing vertex to have 5 and 6 outgoing edges, select it in vertex mode and use
select similar → amount of outgoing edges.

Master the Select Menu. You are looking for edges so change to edge select mode. Then you can use Select Menu > Select Similar (memorize the Shift-G hotkey) > Select Length to find other long edges. Tweak the threshold in the pop up window.
In a situation like yours it may be useful to make a selection like above then invert the selection. So find the normal edges then flip to the not normal.

Always remember the menus change depending on your mode, so you will need to go through vertex, edge, face selection modes to find the selection tool that is most appropriate.

Yes blender needs some kind of connected but not connected to nearest neighbor selection…

Part of your problem is doing the boolean right on an edge loop. Try sliding the edge loop in or out a bit compared with the Boolean intersection.

well, that’s counter-intuitive. but thanks anyway for the heads-up!

and, yes mastering the selection menu is of utmost importance. i keep also over-looking the fact that the selection options change depending on the selection mode!

thanks for the suggestions everyone. i’ve been away for a couple of days, so i’m gonna head back into blender, and try these suggestions.
