Render AA issue, how to solve it?

Hello guys

I have one issue with Cycles. Currently I have rendered one image with a plane and shadeless material.
I am using 1 render sample since i don’t wont to use GI and I want to have short render time. How can I soften the edges of the rendered plane ? I tried with Filter, but it seems like its not working for this example. Before in Blender Internal this issue was an easy fix :slight_smile: Eevee is not an option.

regards

With 2.92, use 5,8,11,16 samples. That is already a lot less than 128 samples by default and it may be sufficient to have enough anti-aliasing.

In 2.93, there will be an anti-aliasing node in compositing nodes.

Your plane is too bright, super bright objects eat AA. Don’t go over 1.0 in value if you don’t want weird stuff to happen, also as @zeauro said you need more than 1 sample for AA 4-8 should be enough for a quick job, 16+ for high quality

if you don’t want GI why not turn the bounces down to 0?

value = 1

value = 100

@zeauro
Thanks for reply, so in newer version we will have AA node so I can then render with 1 sample ?

@LordOdin

Ok I revert it to 1.0. Thanks for the info light bounces are already set to 1.
