Rendered Objects Appear As Darker Grey on a Lighter Grey Background

Hi. I’m having a problem with ‘Render Image’ as stated in the title. Have a lamp and camera of course, which appear to be configured sufficiently. Have looked through the earlier topics and can’t seem to find anyone with a similar problem. Have searched with Google too. Render Engine is Eevee. For Output File Format is JPG. It also won’t seem to output any image file at all, at least not in the output directory specified.

I think the problem was that I had them disabled in renders. I thought that just meant that they wouldn’t SHOW in a render. Not that they wouldn’t have an EFFECT in a render. Cheers.
